321 Stainless Steel

Introduction

Overview of 321 Stainless Steel

321 stainless steel is a Ni-Cr-Mo austenitic stainless steel material, its performance is very similar to grade 304 stainless steel material.

But due to the addition of alloy titanium content, it has better resistance to grain boundary corrosion and high temperature strength. It effectively controls the formation of chromium carbide.

321 austenitic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere and is widely used in petrochemical, electric power, bridge and automobile industries.

However, the “stainlessness” of 321 stainless steel is not absolute. Due to the special service environment, 321 stainless steel will also corrode.

Factors such as medium concentration, PH value, and temperature will have a greater impact on the corrosion resistance of 321 stainless steel.

Futures of 321 Stainless Steel

  • Excellent formability: it can be easily cold formed by various methods such as bending or coining without any detrimental effect on its corrosion resistance
  • Good machinability: it can be machined using conventional techniques
  • Good weldability: it can be welded using conventional techniques
