Difference Between Grade 316 and 316L Stainless Steel Strip
316 and 316L stainless steel strips are stainless steels containing molybdenum.
The molybdenum content in 316L stainless steel strip is slightly higher than 316 stainless steel strip.
Due to the molybdenum in the stainless steel, the overall performance of 316 and 316L stainless steel strip is better than 304 stainless steel strip.

316 stainless steel can not be hardened by heat treatment.

During welding process, 316Cb, 316L or 309Cb stainless steel filler rods or welding rods can be used according to the application.
In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welded section of 316 stainless steel strip needs to be annealed after welding.
If 316L stainless steel strip is used, post-weld annealing treatment is not required.
